The overall goal of the Worth Athletic Association is to provide a venue for children to prosper and have fun in Baseball and Softball. The WAA Board will continue to develop and make improvements by making changes that help the overall growth and stability of the organization. This mission has required the development of this document to assure proper behavior for all persons associated with this organization.
Review and initial each section of this Code of Conduct form in order to assure understanding of these guidelines established by the WAA Board.
____ (IN) Your child(ren) is involved for their enjoyment and to gain knowledge of the given sport. The parent must be the catalyst to make this happen. Learning proper sportsmanship is one key element that is to be gained from this baseball/softball experience.
____ (IN) All participants, children, and parents volunteering for managing or coaching positions, must adhere to the rules provided for each level of play. This should also include adhering to the defined "Inter-League" rules.
____ (IN) All participants are encouraged to accept manager's / coach's decisions, game plan and practice structure. Parental involvement is encouraged at home or during practices. Sideline coaching during games by parents leads to confusion for the child(ren) due to inconsistent direction set by parent versus manager/coach.
____ (IN) No parent or manager/coach should embarrass a child during games or practices. Being singled out with this type of feedback does not allow for growth or fun.
____ (IN) Umpiring is an extremely difficult job. We ask all parents, players, and managers/coaches to refrain from making negative comments during games. Calmly discuss the call in question with the umpire and opposing manager. Remember we are trying to teach sportsmanship!
____ (IN) Zero Tolerance behavior will be the focus of this organization. All participants, players, or parents must refrain from the use of alcohol at all WAA ball games, use of obscene language at any time, verbal confrontation with umpires, and knowingly disobeying established rules.
Inability to follow these guidelines during the season could lead to a disciplinary review with the WAA Board and possible expulsion of your child from the WAA organization.
